Chris has an interest in composites and manufacturing methods. While an undergraduate he was a part time sales associate for a hardware store (1 1/2 years) and also a student assistant for Engineering Materials (2 years). In that time, Chris was able to help the department restructure the learning environment for Engineering Materials through promising course redesign along with professor Troy Topping, revitalize three lab rooms for corrosion experiments and composite testing, design and create a metallographic corrosion testing machine, and design fixtures for improved composite testing for the Universal Testing Machines on campus. He is also continuing his education at Sacramento State to gain his Masters.
Chris pursued the composite press in order to gain experience with complex composite manufacturing techniques while also developing new equipment that will benefit future peers with exploration into advanced composites and better manufacturing methods. His contribution to the project includes Solidworks modeling, thermal and composite analysis and Fabrication of the machine.

Meet the Press
Meet the Press is a group of three students who are among the most commited that Sacramento State has to offer. Having formerly worked on control system projects, report writing, and research projects together, forming a senior project group was a natural evolution. Each member offers a unique skill set, a solid drive for success, integrity, and a willingness to deliver no matter the cost. Alone we stand strong, but together we achieve immeasurable success.
Jacob is a former amatuer racer and avid cyclist, an interest in composits is a natural extention of his curiosity and desire for pushing the envelope. Additionally, the control and management aspect of the project was a major draw for an avid programmer, future systems engineer, and all around Mechanical Engineer.
